This program was originally initiated by the Board of Health, and subsequently ratified by the State, in order to assist residents in repairing their septic systems. The goal of this program is to avert potential environmental impact, especially in the shore areas. The Board of Health also began a new Septic Repair Program that provides loans to residents based exclusively on the criteria of environmental impact.
