A message to the resident of Lakeville from the Accounting and Auditing office.
 
You are always welcome to ask questions of the Accounting and Auditing Office. One of our most visible functions is to record the receipts and expenditures of the daily operations of the community. We are here for you....the taxpayers and residents. After you appropriate your money at Town Meeting, we are the "Watchdogs" of your money. We review every invoice once submitted by the Department Heads. Each and every request for payment is analyzed for accuracy, legality, and authorization. We make every effort to process our bills within thirty days or less. We apply discounts whenever possible. In order for all invoices to be processed, we require certain items from the department head/town boards and the vendor. Occasionally this target processing time is exceeded due to the fact some boards meet infrequently, or other supporting document still needs to be submitted. We strive for perfection.
